Search and Analyze by Researcher
New: Search and Analyze by Researcher!
We're excited to announce a major new feature:
Search by Researcher, which allows you to go beyond individual publications to understand the full impact of a researcher's work.
This new capability directly addresses a long-standing user request and provides a powerful, researcher-centric view of attention data.
What's New?
Researcher Search: You can now search for researchers by name directly within Altmetric Explorer's advanced search. This automates the process of finding a researcher's publications, saving you from time-consuming manual workarounds.
Comprehensive Insights: After searching for a researcher, you'll land on a Highlights page that provides a complete overview of all their research and its attention. This includes aggregated metrics like total mention counts and source breakdowns for all their tracked outputs.
Top Researchers Section: When you run a search, you'll see a Top Researchers section on the Highlights page that shows the researchers with the most mentions matching your query.
Seamless Navigation: You can now click on an author's name on a publication's Details Page to view all of their associated outputs and their attention data in Altmetric Explorer. This makes it easier than ever to explore a researcher's full body of work and its impact.
Find Collaborators & Key Opinion Leaders: This feature is especially valuable for identifying rising stars, assessing scientific leadership, and understanding collaboration networks. For our Enterprise clients, it makes it much easier to track Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and evaluate research partnerships.
Important Information
Data Coverage: The search feature uses reliable researcher data from Dimensions. It includes aggregated attention data for all publications attributed to a specific researcher in the Altmetric database that have received tracked attention.
Complementary Feature: This feature complements our existing output-level search and analysis. It does not replace the ability to search by individual publications, but instead offers a new, aggregated dimension of insight into researcher impact.
Who Can Access It: Search by Researcher is available to all Altmetric Explorer users.
